Since December 8, 2000, the Tifa Foundation (Tifa) has been working to foster an open society.
Through strategic multi-stakeholder cooperation at the local, national, and international levels, with a focus on aconstructive engagement approach.

Our Initiatives
Tifa, which focuses on human rights issues, puts its vision and mission into practice through the following strategic programs:
Human Rights & Democracy
The Human Rights Program supports civil society movements in their efforts to promote democracy and human rights, and to combat injustice and authoritarianism. This program includes:
(1) Transitional Justice, focusing on recovery, truth, justice, and the prevention of repeated violations,
(2) Safe Journalism, protecting the safety of journalists in Indonesia,
(3) Integral Security Services Network, providing protection for human rights defenders and activists from threats. This program aims to create a fair, inclusive, diverse, and sustainable democracy.

The Natural Resources Program advocates for sustainable resource management and environmental justice through education, local economic empowerment, and policy advocacy.
This program supports sustainable entrepreneurship, participatory technology, and inclusive management research.
Campaigns are conducted to raise awareness about diversity, equality, and justice, covering issues such as electronic waste, the role of women in forest management, and the Mineral and Coal Mining Law.

Digital Governance and Policy
The Data Governance and Policy Program advocates for inclusive and equitable data governance and digital technology in Indonesia.
The program promotes research-based policies on personal data protection, digital platform transparency, and the regulation of electronic technology and artificial intelligence.
In addition, the program supports a digital security ecosystem for vulnerable groups, builds civil society capacity in responsible data governance, and addresses privacy risks arising from digital platform business models.

Tracking Movement
The Tifa Foundation produces documentary videos, short animations, and interview videos as a means of disseminating knowledge and publicizing the programs and activities we support and organize. We undertake these efforts to expand our reach and ensure that the messages we convey are more easily understood by our target audience.
